We all know the job market eventually balances itself out—it always has. But fixing the hiring process? That’s going to take time, effort, and cooperation from both sides. Employers and job seekers complain daily about how they’ve been wronged at some point during the application or interview process. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but let’s be honest—a lot of people on both sides have made things harder for everyone else.
Here’s a radical idea we could use everywhere in this country: R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Respect for each other, and respect for the process. Think about it—did you approach your personal relationships or your marriage the way you’re acting now? With unreasonable demands and poor communication?
At the end of the day, both sides are looking for the same thing: a long-term relationship.
