Those Who I Think Are Awesome People
Here are some of the Great Ones in my book. People who I have encountered personally or professionally that are a part of what I call "The Good Egg Society"; No Fluff, No Crack-Up's, Just Real People. Peers and Friends that may or may not have a similar line of critical thinking; but have high levels of morality and integrity. Clicking on their name will take you to their LinkedIn page.
Raquel and I go way back—2012, I think. I was a young recruiter on a mission, and she was the HR Director at one of my target companies. After a little persistence on my part, she gave me a shot, and over time we built a strong partnership that led to many successful searches for her organization.
Through the years, that professional connection grew into a lasting friendship, even from afar. Raquel is an HR professional like no other—principled, sharp, and truly dedicated to people. HR often gets a bad rap, but she’s one of the great ones, with both the integrity and insight that set her apart. We’ve shared conversations about work, family, and life, and she’s someone I hold in the highest regard. Once a client—now a great friend.
I first met Jenn when she was a candidate in my search for a Marketing Executive. Although that particular opportunity didn’t come together, I had no idea it would mark the start of a lasting professional relationship — and a friendship I deeply value.
Jenn is an absolute marketing powerhouse, and any company would be fortunate to have her on their team. She’s one of those rare, authentic people who combines sharp strategy with creativity and genuine authenticity.
She’s also someone I can hop on a call with about a specific topic—business or personal—and within minutes, we’ve veered off course, sharing stories, venting, and laughing for hours. Despite only ever meeting over Zoom, I consider Jenn a true friend and someone I trust completely.
Matthew and I have only known each other a short time—initially connecting when he was a candidate, then later as a potential client. In the nine months since, titles and circumstances have shifted, but one thing that’s remained constant is the mutual support we’ve shared while navigating very different professional paths.
I’m particular about who I bring into my circle, but from the start, I knew Matthew was someone I’d welcome without hesitation. He’s honest, hardworking, deeply knowledgeable in his field, and refreshingly transparent—qualities I respect immensely. As we both step into new chapters, I know without question that Matthew is someone I can always count on.
Dave is truly an anomaly in my network—in the best way. We come from very different backgrounds, but when we first spoke just a few months ago, my gut told me we’d have far more in common than it appeared on the surface.
He’s a remarkably smart and versatile professional with a keen eye for success. I remember complimenting him on his website, and without hesitation, he offered to help me with mine. We spent an hour on the phone working through it, despite having only just connected. That moment immediately showed me that Dave is a person of genuine character—the kind of human being that I’m grateful to have in my circle.
Krista and I first met while working together at a firm in Wilmington, NC, and we’ve stayed connected ever since. Back then, she stood out as a talented recruiter with sharp instincts and a genuine knack for spotting great people—despite the challenges many of us faced under that ownership.
Today, Krista has taken that same drive and intuition into the highly competitive Wilmington real estate market, where she’s absolutely crushing it and proving she’s a force to be reckoned with. I’m proud to call her a trusted friend, and if you’re looking for someone who will treat you and your family with honesty, care, and respect while helping you find your next home in the Cape Fear region, she’s the one I’d recommend every time.
I met Eric in early 2021 when I was hiring a recruiter for my team at the firm I was with at the time. Eric had limited recruiting experience, but I saw his potential and took a chance on him. From day one, his drive and determination were clear—he absorbed every piece of knowledge I could share and applied it with precision.
It didn’t take long for me to see that he had the instincts, soft skills, and dedication to become an exceptional recruiter—and he truly proved it. While Eric has since moved on from recruiting, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again in a heartbeat. There’s no doubt that whatever path he chooses, he’ll succeed.
