How Do We Fix It? - A Call for a Job Market Revolution

For too long, employers and job seekers have been locked in a relentless, bruising heavyweight fight—one that’s left both sides bloodied, frustrated, and exhausted. Everybody wants the same simple outcome: get jobs filled and build retention that actually lasts. But instead of progress, we’ve settled into a stalemate that’s hurting businesses, careers, and the broader workforce.


👔 Employers say:

“No one wants to work.”

“There’s no talent.”

“People aren’t loyal anymore.”


💼 Job seekers say:

“The hiring process is broken.”

“I got ghosted again.”

“Salaries are too low.”

“The jobs that are posted aren’t even real.”


Round after round, jab after jab, both sides keep swinging. New ATS systems, resume hacks, sneaky sourcing tactics, complicated funnels, hiring hoops, endless interviews, AI tools that screen candidates but don’t understand them—the fight just keeps getting uglier. And here we are, stuck in the middle of the ring, wondering how filling a job became harder than solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded.



I’ve spent my career trying to be a one-man warrior in this war. I’ve tried to bridge the gap, call out the nonsense, and bring humanity back into the hiring process. But let’s be real—no single person can fix a broken system this big. Not me. Not you. Not even the fanciest AI on the block.


I need people in my corner.

Employers need to give a little.

Job seekers need to give a little.

And both sides need to admit that winning this fight doesn’t mean landing a knockout—it means finally learning how to work together.


Will this battle ever fully end?

Probably not. At least not in my lifetime.


But damnit, I’m going to use the time I do have to ease the pain, stop the bleeding, and help both sides walk out of this ring with fewer scars. That’s why I write. That’s why I built this blog. That’s why I show up every day ready to call out the BS and push for better.


So here’s the question:
