Welcome to My Story

I didn’t start my career in recruiting—I found it the same way a lot of great recruiters do: by accident. I came from the commercial construction world (Division 8 doors and hardware), estimating, project managing, and working directly with builders and contractors. Before that, I spent years in retail leadership with Lowe’s and Home Depot, learning how people think, work, and grow. I didn’t know it at the time, but all of those experiences built the foundation for the career I have today.

When I moved into recruiting nearly 20 years ago, something clicked. I realized I had a knack for understanding people, cutting through noise, and connecting talent with opportunity in a way that actually made a difference. Since then, I’ve worked across agency recruiting, corporate environments, consulting, and small business ownership. I’ve partnered with companies in construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, private equity, and disaster response—recruiting everyone from hourly workers to C-suite leaders.

My core belief is simple: recruiting matters because people matter. A great hire can change a business, and a great opportunity can change a life. I’m honest, direct, and not afraid to say what most people in this industry won’t. That’s how I’ve led teams, trained hiring managers, built recruiting operations, and helped countless candidates move forward with clarity—not fluff.

But my career isn’t the whole story. I’m a proud dad to two daughters and a “papa” to two beautiful granddaughters. My wife is my anchor, my biggest supporter, and the reason I stay grounded. I love my dogs, probably more than most people, and when I’m not working you can usually find me at my workbench, on a golf course, watching the Carolina Hurricanes or Ohio State Buckeyes, or heading to the mountains—where I hope to retire someday.

From where I started to where I am now, the through-line has always been the same: do good work, be real with people, and never stay quiet about what actually matters in this profession.
